Our third macropod species - wallaroo

I've previously listed the eastern grey kangaroo, and the red-necked wallaby as being two of the macropods that we frequently see around the property. Another species that's around is the Wallaroo, albeit infrequently. The wallaroos prefer more open country in the vicinity of the creek about 1.2 km (1300 yards) east of the house.

Once in a blue moon, though, we'll see a male wallaroo nearer the house - perhaps on the lookout for female company. The males of the species are dark and tend to black as they get older, the female is a dark cream colour that gets lighter as she ages.
