How can a fly's bite be so painful?
It's summer. Summer means heat. Summer means bitey flying insects!
This photograph is from my archives but the pests remain the same. These March flies (known as horse flies elsewhere) can make hiking a painful experience.
These tiny demons are members of the Tabanidae family and pack a decent bite.
