Water is still a popular topic. 77 mm (3 inches) of rain has fallen in three days. That’s about 10% of our annual rainfall. It’s not over yet - the forecast is for light rain for the next few days. Even with this volume of water (which is high for here), there’s been no flooding. The creek hasn’t burst its banks which means that the rain has been light enough to soak in rather than run off. Hmm, I wonder what the local waterfalls look like at the moment.

The Dumaresq Creek. Looking upstream.
… looking downstream.
The creek flows under the road through this small pipe (you can’t actually see the pipe but trust me, it’s there). Should the volume of water be too great, the creek just flows over the road. The road is then closed to traffic. This happens a few times over summer after storms where there’s a large volume of water in a short time.
Surely the ducks must be at home here.
As if there’s not enough water around, the fountain sprinkles water forth onto the pond.
And just to make sure I get some flora photographed today, some lillies on the pond.
