After 31 mm (1.2 inches) of rain yesterday we had a brief non-rain period before the rain started again. The house water tanks are about 3/4 to 7/8 full. This is good news to say the least.

Water flows alongside the road Out with the dogs this morning I saw the result of yesterdays rain running along the road side.

Terrestrial orchid: Diuris maculata Driving down our track this morning I noticed that these terrestrial orchids, Diuris maculata, were in the process of flowering. Perhaps by this coming weekend they’ll be fully opened and give me the opportunity to add to my photographs of indiginous flora.

Rain 1 The rain began again at around lunchtime.

Rain 2 Light at first …

Rain 3 … then heavier …

Rain 4 … dropping visibility somewhat.
