One of our local 'roos

While at times we've had up to 60 kangaroos around the property, especially in drought conditions, we would normally see a dozen or so females with their young-at-foot grazing around the place most of the week.

This pictured female 'roo is our most common visitor and can be recognised by the small brown patch on her right shoulder. She can be found in the vicinity of the house most days with her young-at-foot.

I can see from this photograph that she has a very young joey in her pouch. I suspect that this young one has yet to poke its head out to have a look around.

The dogs and I were only a couple of metres from her at this point - she's quite used to us walking slowly around her (and her young).
