Some photographs from an aimless wander around outside my office at lunchtime today.

Galls on gum leaves An insect, probably a wasp, has caused the gum leaves to respond to this perceived attack by thickening up their skin to form galls.

Looking over the top of iron roofs I really enjoy the shape and lines of this style of roof. In this case the scene is further enhanced by the vista behind it.

Young magpie seems fearless This young magpie seemed quite happy to watch me as I walked around it.

Callistemon Callistemon in flower.

Unknown purple flower An unknown plant. I don’t recall ever seeing a flower such as this before.

Flower loooking like antlers in velvet The plant is probably an Anigozanthos (Kangaroo paw).
