Serendipity: With no theme in mind for the day I let the lens wander to a hazy view over Armidale to the volcanic plug, some black bark and pine cones, and then dusky clouds.

A 100% crop from a photograph of a view across Armidale. The image is hazy and flat - like a dirty, 19th century painting. Of note are the large number of trees, the old Teachers College (right of centre) with its Greco-Roman columns out front, and the volcanic plug (many foreshortened kilometres) behind the College.
Wattle trees only live about 20 or 30 years. This one, with blackened bark, is quite old. The resin oozes and drips.
Not far away, pine cones form.
On the way home I stopped at the Gara River to record the tranquil reflections under moody clouds.
Not quite angry enough clouds (to produce a storm) hang over our heads.
