I went down to the Canoe Slalom course at The Armidale School at lunchtime. I’m not quite sure how this works. Do they have a pump to make the water flow? Or do they wait until the creek is up?
A Magpie -Lark sits on this branch calling out calling out “pea-o-wit”. Translated I think that means “hoy, watch out for this bloke pointing his camera at you”!
A White-Faced Heron swoops low over the ground before landing on the other side of the creek (see next photograph).
A view of the Canoe Slalom course at The Armidale School. The heron is now in the shadows in the lower centre of the image.
Back at the car park I notice that somebody is a keen supporter of the Sydney Roosters (a rugby league team).
